Custom Chair Attachable Rolling Footrest

Most modern desks and chairs are too high for shorter people like myself (5'6"). This leads to the need for somewhere to rest the feet while working at an office desk. The problem with footrests is that they are a separate item from the chair, which becomes an issue as they don't fit in between the chair's legs and also get out of position or in the way when stepping out of the chair for a break.

Design a footrest that is attached to the chair's legs that has casters to roll with the chair so that it is never out of position or in the way of the chair's movement.

• Used calipers and measuring tapes to get the exact measurements of the chair's legs.
• Designed a CAD model in Fusion360 of a mold that would fit around the leg of the chair and have a flat surface to hold a slab of wood.
• 3D printed the mold model and used it to assemble the footrest. I cut a slab of wood and attached the 3D printed mold for the legs with glue.
• Stitched a fabric on top of the wood and added a foam pad in-between for extra comfort.
• Designed a CAD model for the front casters that allow the footrest to sit on top of the chair and allow it to roll.
